ASHREIGNEY PARISH PLAN
Ashreigney Parish Plan
We are pleased to announce that we have received the corrected results of the survey from the Community Council of Devon and are now busily working to produce the finished Parish Plan Document. The amount of returned surveys has been very encouraging and we would like to thank everyone for their time and effort in filling in the questionnaire. From our initial run through of the results some items have become immediately obvious including: General information about what is happening in the parish, is considered to be good, with 78% of completed surveys saying that they read The Ashcombe every issue. This shows what an important source of information this is. From the completed surveys we have also learnt that there are 213 cars or vans in the parish which shows our reliance on our own transport, with only 9 households not having their own transport. The results also show (probably unsurprisingly) that we are an aging parish with 86% being over the age of 40. Another pleasing result was that 63% of our parishioners use the public footpaths at least once a month. The majority of replies were in favour of a community outside space, which indicates how important the local environment is to most of us. Andrew Barrett
